Protagonists, Main and Supporting Characters in GTA 5

The mighty Grand Theft Auto 5 is back with some awesome characters and you surely don’t wanna miss a chance on this. A whole new range of protagonists, antagonists and strangers and much more; prepare yourself to be awestruck as soon as you start playing.

Many of these will be there to help, while many others won’t but the fact that GTA 5 got the best character list is still there and the following article gives you a detailed account about all of them. Also, without any spoilers, we will provide you a thorough insight about the family line of each character as well as their role in the game.

Protagonists/Playable Characters

GTA 5 allows players to play with any three main characters present in the game and you can switch between any of them whenever wanted. These characters are Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips.

Franklin Clinton

Franklin is one of the three main characters in the game who lives in Los Santos. At an early age, he joined the mafia industry and has been committing various crimes since then. He wants to achieve dominance over the region and become an ultimate boss but his ambitions require him to leave his old job of a luxury car dealer. Soon after, the story takes a twist and Franklin meets Michael Dr Santa, who offers Franklin to work for him.

Trevor Philips

Trevor is one of those iconic mafia bosses that one surely avoids meeting in real life. He may be a severe drug addict but you don’t wanna know about his successful career as a criminal or as an airman. Also, hee is quite strong and can take anyone down in an instant. Known as the notorious one, Trevor is a fast friend of Michael and is currently residing in Sandy Shores in Blaine Country. All the weapons and drug dealing cases are done through him and he holds an estimated wealth of %43 million.

Michael De Santa

Believed to be dead almost 9 years ago, Michael De Santa makes a comeback after completing a deal with the FBI. Known as the bank robber, Michael De Santa was forced to fake his death so that he may be able to live a life full of peace. However, peace wasn’t in his fate as he then faced some consequences with his family members and was forced to return back again. He now returns to his old criminal life and although players think that he is a mafia boss, there is still something good in him as he feels bad after committing a crime.

Main or Story Mode Characters

Several main characters in the game including antagonists and other friends and family members of the protagonists are mentioned below.

Amanda De Santa

She is the wife of the main character, Michael. Both of them are not really on very good terms with each other. She has two children, Jimmy and Tracey.

Lester Crest

Considered as one of the most genius person in the game, Lester Crest is a patient of autism as well as Asperger’s syndrome and is a bisexual. Due to his physical disabilities, Lester’s motor neurons are unable to function properly which left him handicapped. Since he cannot move now, he has put on a significant amount of weight but all of this has not stopped him from being an extraordinarily brainy person.

All of the missions performed by Michael, Trevor, and Franklin are designed by Lester since he has some excellent computing skills. His knowledge of technology combined with sharp intelligence makes him difficult for people to overcome.

Devin Weston

Although Devin Weston is considered a very rich man, most of his wealth is acquired through illegal means and he is also the owner of a number of businesses in San Andreas. He has an army of his own and doesn’t allow Michael to get into his business.

Dave Norton

Dave Norton is a very unscrupulous guy known for the corruption charges in his FBI tenure. He is also known to have killed Michael 9 years ago, although the story takes a turn in this. Both Michael and Dave made a deal almost 9 years back, in which Dave would receive a recognition for killing Michael and Michael would be able to live a soothing life away from all the dark world.

Jimmy De Santa

He is the son of Michael and is a very lethargic person. All he does is play video games and fight with his father. He is somewhat disobedient and conflictual.

Ron Jakowski

Ron is one of the protagonists in the game and provides missions to Trevor. He is the actual mastermind behind all of Trevor’s activities.

Steve Haines

Steve Haines is a far more corrupt FBI agent than Dave and forces Michael, Trevor, and Franklin to do all the illegal tasks for him. Also, he is one of the main villains in the game and forces others to clean up his mess.

Stretch

He is one of the two antagonists in GTA 5 and was in prison before making an appearance in the game. He later visits Franklin’s house along with Lamar to make a drug deal.

Tracey De Santa

She is the daughter of Michael and like all her family members, she is quite disobedient and not on good terms with her family members. She wants all the limelight and aspires to become a singer and a dancer later on.

Wei Chang

He is a drug Lord who is not in a very good relationship with Trevor since he messed up his business and canceled partnership in order to pair up with the O’Neil Brothers.

Wade Hebert

He is a good friend of both Trevor and Ron and can be considered a little bit weak when it comes to mental capacity. But still, he is always there for Trevor and finds work for him whenever needed.

Lamar Davis

One of the most insane friends of Franklin, Lamar is a top tier criminal who has a pet dog named Chop. You will see him in various missions and also, players can play the game using Chop as the main character too. He is a member of The Families and a staff member of Deluxe Premium Motorsport.

Supporting Characters in Story Mode

All the other characters in the game except the main characters who appeared frequently were

Solomon Richards

He is the owner of the production house Richards Majestic Productions and is planning to release his last film named Meltdown.

Andreas Sanchez

Andreas works for the FBI and works under the supervision of Steve Haines.

Martin Madrazo

He is a supporting antagonist and a Drug Lord in the game, currently residing in Los Santos.

Molly Schultz

Molly is Devin’s lawyer and one of the primary antagonists in the game.

Brad Snider

Brad is an old friend of Michael and Trevor and was also a member of their gang before the Grand Theft Auto 5 started. He makes a very small appearance on the screen and it is assumed that he was probably captured in his last failed mission in North Yankton. Trevor and Brad are still in contact and are still friends too.

Chop

Chop is the Rottweiler pet dog of Lamar and Franklin and can be witnessed present with Franklin in most parts of the game. In most of the scenes, you will see Franklin going on a walk with Chop and the player will also get the opportunity to play GTA 5 in the role of Chop where several missions will be provided.

Patricia Madrazo

Patricia Madrazo and Martin Madrazo are in a very toxic relationship with each other and although Patricia is his wife, Martin still abuses her both physically and verbally and both of them are hardly keeping up with each other.

Dr. Isiah Friedlander

Dr. Isiah is a therapist and is believed to be based on Dr. Sidney Freedman. Many of the things are similar between the two and the former appears to work in Mount Zonah Medical Center which is a medical clinic located on the coastline of the Pacific Bluff.

Tao Cheng

Mr. Tao Cheng is the CEO of the Cheng Family Holdings business association and is the brother-in -law of Wei Chang. You will find him in the casino mission where you will search for an abandoned motel. Since he was born in China, you will witness him communicating in Mandarin Chinese most of the time but he can still speak some basic English too. But the level of his English is pretty basic and that is the reason that he always has a translator with him. In order to get rid of Mr. Cheng, Franklin will have to throw a Sticky Bomb at him.

Simeon Yetarian

He is a car dealer and the owner of Premium Deluxe Motorsport. She also serves the role of a Senior Vice President and General Counsel to Weston’s businesses.
